Donald Sterling, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. Rich guy. The NBA wants to distant itself from him. Made some comments that made many people concerned that he's a racist. He's worth lots of money and acquired his riches with the same values that he has just been exposed with publicly recently.

So he defended his racist accusations by saying that his mistress is black and Mexican. Later, he said that he wished that he would've paid her to keep quiet. This doesn't sound as someone with good values...has a mistress and bribes? Sure, he's made lots of money, and helped a lot of people, although he likely has hurt many poeple in order to gain his fortune as well. Despite his negative exposure, I don't think that being banned from the NBA, and having to sell his team, is going to ruin his quality of life as he'll continue to have his money, nice houses, and women.

Still in the news, Donald Sterling. There's talk that Magic Johnson wants to buy the Clippers. Maybe this is the moment for which NBA folks were waiting: to expose Sterling when someone else is going to be ready to buy the Clippers. When the tape came out, the Clippers won; when Sterling followed up with his "...my mistress..." comment, the Clippers continued to win; and then, when Sterling came on Anderson Cooper to say that he's not a racist, the Clippers were knocked out of the playoffs.
Sterling offended other rich people, who may have the power to get his NBA team ownership away from him.

It's been a while since I've updated this post on the Donald Sterling saga. Since the last update, he had agreed to sell his team, however, he has changed his mind and is suing in order to keep his team. He indicated that he's going to dig up dirt on the NBA.

Currently in the news is the sadness of baseball's Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn passing away on Monday, June 16 of 2014. I was in my departmental office at my part time job at Outpost Natural Foods when I heard it. My manager informed me of it when I came into the office, as he had the radio on for the Brewer game that was to start about 40 minutes later.
